During the rest of the week they braided rugs, made candles, baked in a pioneer stove, worked with a blacksmith, weeded the garden, attended a one room school house (where Dillon had to sit in the corner with a dunce hat on!), make popcorn on a fire, made quilt squares, played authentic pioneer games, etc...
Here are some pictures from the last day when they were able to show me around to see all that they had learned.

Bailey loved making candles here...

BTW- do you know what "sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite" really means?
Dillon does!
Leave a message telling me what you think it means... there may be a prize involved!

hmmmmm....did they tuck the sheets all the way around them to keep the bugs from the straw mattresses away? Ha! Grasping here... Looks like they had a great time!!
I am pretty sure that it has something to do with actual bed bugs, horrible things, did they tuck all their sleeves and pant legs in to keep them out?
I don't know what it means, but do I get some points for knowing that Pioneer Camp was in a South Park episode?
Sleep tight means to pull the ropes tight that are todays equal to a box spring. Bed bugs are real bed bugs that loved to live in a straw mattress.
That is so cool that your kids had a great time at pioneer camp! I bet you wouldn't find many kids that feel that way in this fast paced, electronic World. That's really cool! It does sound like a lot of fun!
