soap?

Kevin and I were down 2 kids this week. Kevin is at the beginning of his busy season, and I needed to be available this week to help out at school. Maga and Papa graciously offered to take the kids for several days to help me out, but I think they were wanting to do something like this any ways. So it was a win-win for both of us.

So on Tuesday morning, we pack up and head up to Cheyenne to meet up with Maga and Papa. I allowed the kids to pack their own suitcases as long as I could have final say if something questionable was there. They remembered underwear, toothbrushes, pillows, all the things that they would need for their three days away. We packed up the car and headed out.

Tuesday night, it's 7:15 and Kevin and I are home with just Avery who had just been put to bed. We are on either side of the table just looking at each other. Wow, it has been seven years since we had so much time alone in the evening.

Wednesday night, we go to dinner, just 'cause we can.

Thursday night, an unexpected visitor drops in and stays for several hours.

Friday, it's time to get the kids again. After working all morning in the school, I head out to pick up D and B. They are in the car no more than 30 seconds and are already yelling at each other.

The quiet seems so far away.

Several hours later we get home and I ask the kids if they had taken a bath while at Maga and Papa's. Nope. No one ever asked them too. I guess too much fun was being had. There is a thunderstorm so I can't ask them to jump in now. It will have to wait until morning.

Saturday morning the girls get their bath done, but Dillon is at goalie camp with Kevin. When I see him at lunch, I remind him to take a bath when he gets home. I go to work.

5:30, I ask D if he had taken his bath yet. Nope.

"GET IN THE TUB!"

He does and is there for a while. When he comes down it is almost dinner time. He sits down at the table. Kevin asks him if he feels better. Dillon looks at him like he has lost his mind. "Why?" he asks.

"Don't you feel so much better now that you have washed with soap?"

Stare.

"You washed with soap, right?"

"No."

Round two is in progress right now.
