Today was quite a day!
I was coughed on, sneezed on, walked on, puked on, cried on, screamed at, lied to, tested, interviewed...
Wow. If you don't want to know, I don't blame you. I just need to get it out. So here it comes....
I spent the first 4 hours of the school day at Dillon and Bailey's school volunteering in a class with a fabulous teacher. I try to spend every Thursday morning there with her. Anyways, there is a boy in the class that is tough. And he was having a really tough day. He wasn't feeling good, with this deep cough. He couldn't concentrate, couldn't sit still, couldn't sit next to anyone. He was just having a really tough time. We made a deal that would help his behavior. The deal unfortuately feel through, he just couldn't do it today. Poor little guy.
Next I traveled on to the preschool I help out at. The director had told the staff to expect me 45 minutes before I told her I could be there. So people were a little cranky to be relieved for their lunch breaks late. The director did come and apologize to them when she realized her mistake.
Then the babies...the babies. They were cranky too. Crying, not sleeping, puking, really whining. A mom came in to pick up her son and while she was there, he spit up. And then stood back and let us clean him up and change him while there were 4 other babies crying and needing something. We had to prop a bottle for one little girl. I was walking around holding and rocking 2 babies. And the other worker, was changing/cleaning him and trying to soothe the other one by bouncing him in a bouncy seat. It was crazy.
I was exhausted! And then went to pick up the kids at school. Avery was at my friends house all day, so I had 5 kids to pick up. Bailey's teacher decided then would be a good time to try and meet with me over some class parent things.... Okay.
Dropped off my friend's kids and picked up Avery. Drove over to Bailey's ballet. We had a few minutes so I wanted to try and nurse Avery before we went in. I took her out of her chair and brought her up to the front of the car. Settled in. Got her into position and then the flood gates opened. Curdled milk, half digested raspberries, etc all over me, her and the driver's side of the car.
Sigh....
Got her stablized. Undressed. Calmed down. Buckled back in. Dropped off Bailey. Drove home to change my clothes, bathe Avery, let Dillon do his homework. More puke...
Meet up with Kevin. Hand over Dillon and Avery with instructions. And on to take Bailey to a piano interview. Rush hour traffic.
Interview went really well on my end, but Bailey didn't like it because we had to drive too far. Sigh...
Got home.
Settled in.
Watched Grey's.
Snuggled with Avery.
Going to bed.
Praying for a better day tomorrow.
